Scouts Summer Survival Camp

Hammock Camp

In August the Scouts and Older Cubs went on a survival skills camp at Linnet Clough Campsite. Thanks to Tameside Council, the Group once again received a Holiday Grant this summer to take the young people on a weekend adventure during the summer holidays.

As well as cooking on an open fire and learning firelighting and knife skills, the young people all slept in hammocks. The Hammocks and Tarps were set up in a secluded copse of trees. Thanks to the Holiday Grant the young people also tried their hand at Archery and Air Rifle Shooting. The survival camp followed some of the skills of our Chief Scout – Bear Grylls.
