14 December 2012

5th Hyde Scout Group had an amazing time visiting the Blue Planet aquarium as part of a sleepover weekend in July.

The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts went on a coach trip to see the sharks and fish, spiders and frogs at the aquarium which is home to over 100 living displays including Europe’s largest collection of sharks. The Beavers and Cubs especially enjoyed stroking the rays in the huge rock pool exhibit, whist the Scouts were fascinated by the Aquatunnel, one of the longest underwater tunnels in the world!

After the visit we all had a meal together and played some games back at our HQ – Hyde Central Methodist Church. There was then a sleepover in the hall for the Cubs and Scouts. Breakfast on Sunday was followed by a church service, where the boys and girls joined the young people in ‘J Team’ to think about Jesus with a fishy theme. A great time was had by all.
